Cartridges are getting more popular
While flower remains the most popular category overall, cartridges actually saw the most significant market share growth month-over-month (MoM). The category gained 1.4 percentage points to reach 24.6% of the entire wholesale cannabis market, as measured by transaction volume in LeafLink.
Concentrates reverse downward price trend
Prices for concentrates had been steadily decreasing over previous months, but that trend reversed in March with prices growing 4.6% on average each week. This erased the dips and the category finished 12% higher than the previous high.
It’s a tough time to start an Edibles business in MA
Edibles & Ingestibles in MA were the most competitive category across all major LeafLink markets in March. The category was sold by 77% of brands in MA, while only making up 24% of sales which means the market is quite saturated at the current time.
